My makeup kit staples

I have listed the products that I find I kept reaching for on set and when doing clients. I also gave a short review and tips that might be of help to you.

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

Not only does it look natural, it lasts the whole day! It is buildable and it doesn't smudge. The price is pretty good. I bought mine last Christmas and I barely made a dent. Scoop out the product you need with a clean spatula so it doesn't dry out. Closing the container right away helps too! I have also tried the pencil version. They work great together.

2. MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly

I heard so many makeup artist rave about this so I just had to try it out. I have to say it does the job. I have really oily eyelids. Eyeshadows doesn't last on me the whole day. This one keeps everything in place. It is also waterproof. Great for weddings if you do bridals!

3. MAC Eyeshadows

I love MAC eyeshadows in matte and veluxe pearl finishes. One of my fave is Brule (matte). It is a beige colour. I use it as a base and it makes the rest of my shadow application go on smoothly.

Another one of of my faves is All That Glitter (veluxe pearl). It is beige with gold pearls. It compliments all skintones! It is such a beautiful highlight, very versatile (eyelids, brow bone, inner corner of the eyes, cupids bow, cheeks). Glitters everywhere! :)

4. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

This baby never budge! A definite staple in my kit. It stays on the whole day. It has full coverage and it looks so natural. I am thinking of trying out MAC Studio Conceal & Correct Palette as well.

5. Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleaner

This makes my life a lot easier cleaning over 50 makeup brushes. The 32 fl oz will lasts you the whole year! Such a great buy. I only use this for deep cleaning brushes at home, not on set as it makes my brushes oily.

I pour a little bit on a towel and swirl my brushes around to get the majority of makeup residue off. Then, I wash them with liquid dish soap with antibacterial mixed with hair oil for all hair types to keep my brushes soft. Instead of liquid dish soap, you can also use mild shampoo for all hair types. As for hair oil, I am currently adding in Organix Coconut oil.
